About Somagaia
Therapeutic Nature-Based Practice | Somagaia™ Facilitator is a professional diploma equivalent training programme developed and delivered by CommuniTree Outdoor Education.
It offers a unique pathway for practitioners who wish to deepen their therapeutic, educational, or facilitative work through the intelligence of the body and the wisdom of the Earth.
This immersive training supports a wide range of professionals, including:
- Outdoor educators and Forest School leaders
- Youth workers, SEND/SEMH specialists, and social care practitioners
- Therapists, counsellors, and mental health professionals seeking to take their work outdoors
- Creative practitioners and holistic educators
Somagaia™ training draws on interdisciplinary research in trauma-informed pedagogy, somatic awareness, child development, ecological systems, and ancient practice. It prepares facilitators to work in meaningful, reciprocal relationship with the land, the body, and those they support.
Graduates will be equipped to facilitate nature-connected, play-led, and regulation-informed experiences with children and young people aged 5–18, in educational, therapeutic, and community settings.
The training aligns with national Level 4 benchmarks and contributes to a growing field of relational, regenerative practice.
